Taggin' MP3 BETA
NOTE: Due to corrupt files, none of the beta versions below are currently available.
You will have to download the full version of the program.
Beta Release notes:
Here you will find latest BETA releases of Taggin' MP3. As with any beta software,
Lazor Software makes NO warranties WHATSOEVER regarding this program. If it
works, then enjoy it. If it totally crashes your computer, we cannot be
held responsible. This software has NOT been thoroughly tested, but it has
been tested to perform as expected. We recommend you use this product on
"scratch" MP3s or copies of your MP3s to avoid permanent damage to your tags
and/or songs.
Also note, this is only the executable. It does NOT include any sort of
installer program. Just run the program and away you go!
As of v1.4.0 BETA 2, the MP3 song length and frame count is still inaccurate
for many abnormal MP3 encodings (namely anything besides MPEG-1 Layer III).
VBR files will also show the length incorrectly. This will eventually be fixed,
but I'm not sure when.
New features in Taggin' MP3 v1.4.5 BETA 1 (03/27/2002)
- Updating the MP3 sync detection. This should help avoid the crazy
calculations for times, bitrate, etc, on corrupted MP3s.
- Added a toolbar for the most common functions.
- Added the ability to add entire directories recursivly.
- Cleaned up a lot of code to hopefully make some speed improvements when
performing batch operations.
- The "last directory" is now remembered for the file picker window.
- The "Picker" tab has been moved to the bottom. It will eventually be
phased out, but I have left it in there for the people who are used to
it.
- Hopefully fixed the Undo Rename and MP3 selection bug when you add MP3s
from different directories, then sort the list by any column (and the
order changes). It would either rename the file incorrectly or give an
error when selecting the file.
- Many other miscellaneous bugs.
New features in Taggin' MP3 v1.4.0 BETA 3 (03/11/2002)
- Fix the "Division by zero" bug that occurred on MP3s with false sync or
corrupt headers. Please note that any MP3s that fall in this category will
have their length detected incorrectly. There's really no easy way
around this, since the MP3 is technically corrupted. I am planning on
adding a "check MP3 integrity" feature that will go through the MP3 and
see if everything is like it should be.
- Added four new options: Write ID3v1/ID3v2 tag to files, Copy ID3v1 to ID3v2,
and Copy ID3v2 to ID3v1. Find them by right-clicking on the MP3 list while
on the Namer tab.
- Fixed a title display bug when you deleted the ID3v2 tag
New features in Taggin' MP3 v1.4.0 BETA 2 (03/05/2002)
- Redid the file listing to give "on-the-fly" MP3 info, such as file size,
length, and title (for now).
- Added the ability to sort the list (just ascending right now).
- Fixed a few random bugs I found, including the ID3v1 genre "Apply to All"
bug.
